Being a guitar player myself, I always thought it would be fun to create some kind of guitar chord game or lesson. So, using the dial feature in Storyline 360, I created an interaction where the user turns the dial to learn guitar chords.
The first interaction is a single slide with a layer for each guitar chord. A simple trigger to show the corresponding layer when the dial is advanced allows the user to view a chord chart, an image of the chord on the guitar, and an audio file to hear the chord being played.
The learner advances to the quiz with the click of a button.
Wanting to add more to the basic drag and drop quiz questions, I decided to add more feedback as the learner progressed through the quiz. So, I added a variable that increments by one with each correct answer. If the learner is doing well, they will receive positive feedback. If they get 3 answers wrong, they will have an opportunity to go back to the interactive lesson.
In addition, there is a link to a hint on each question slide allowing for a quick glance at a chord chart.
This short lesson could be changed to allow for more navigation choices as well as taking away the hints if they make the quiz too easy.
